Body Of Missing Man Recovered
Officials report that the body of a local man who went missing a week ago, was recovered in the Mount Lebanon Road area of Lawrence County Saturday afternoon.
Robert Oscar Davis, 46, of Holloway Road, Five Points was reported missing on Monday, May 3 by his sister. She reported that she and other family members had been unable to make contact with him since 2:00 a.m. the previous Saturday.
On Tuesday Davis’ truck was found abandoned on Wisdom Road in West Point, locked and with a flat tire.
Authorities had conducted searches of various areas throughout last week. A cadaver dog was brought in Saturday afternoon to search a wooded area. The search was initially concentrated in the vicinity of Kilburn Road, but was later expanded to include the Mt. Lebanon area.
Officials report Davis’ family has made a positive identification. His body has been dispatched for autopsy, and his identity confirmed through DNA testing.
Authorities had confirmed on Friday that they believed foul play to be involved in Davis’ disappearance. Two individuals had been detained for questioning. They report that the death is now being treated as a homicide.
